| Tomorrow night the moon is full, and it is the one with a job in its name. Every other full moon is named after an animal or the weather. This one is named after the work. The Harvest Moon It is the full moon closest to the equinox, and it is the only one named after a task. Before electric light, it was the one that let people keep cutting after sunset. The moon rises close to sunset for several nights running, so the field stayed lit and the work got finished. That is the whole idea. Not a beginning. The end of something you have already been doing. Saturday it arrives in the evening across Europe, and it is neither a supermoon nor a small one. It is an ordinary full moon doing an old job. What to do with it You have been carrying something since the new moon on the 11th. Most people are. A job you have not applied for. A message you have not sent. A person you have not stopped thinking about. Tomorrow is the wrong night to ask for more of it. It is the right night to finish the part you can finish. Pick the smallest piece. Send the one message. Close the one tab. Say the one thing out loud to one person. Then stop. The harvest is not the planting, and you do not have to decide what comes next tomorrow. That is the part people skip. They finish one thing and immediately start a list of four more. What the universe is doing this weekend The Harvest Moon is full on Saturday the 26th, in the evening across Europe. It is the closest full moon to this week's equinox, which is what gives it the name. Sunday the moon starts to fade, and the asking half of the cycle does not come back until October. So this is the weekend for the ending, and the new moon in a fortnight is the one for the start. Your next step Before Saturday night, finish one small thing you have been carrying since the 11th. One message, one form, one sentence said out loud. Then leave the rest of it alone until October. Remember, abundance is your birthright. |
